PAINTED PROTOTYPE - Leia Endor minibust for DST/Gentle Giant

Leia (Endor costume) minibust painted prototypes for Gentle Giant/DST, painted by me around November/December 2021.

I love painting the Leia's, partly because we've had a really amazing freelance sculptor who worked on them. The likeness was just spot-on, which makes it a real joy for me to paint.
Weirdly, my favorite part of this project may have been the "hat" (...as she calls it, helmet to any normal person lol). It may be because I had already painted her portrait before, so that wasn't really a challenge of figuring out what to do. The helmet, on the other hand, had some really interesting details and I think I nailed the colors very well.
The camo on her poncho was probably the most challenging part, partly because I had not painted camo before, and mostly because it was really hard to find correct reference of what it looked like at different angles. I really wanted to do my best to recreate all the shades in the correct pattern.

A fun project all around, and I'm glad that the production pieces have come out beautifully as well.
